The informal meeting of justice and home affairs ministers will take place on 6 and 7 July 2020 as part of Germany’s EU Council Presidency.
The options for reporting on the informal meeting of home affairs ministers on 7 July 2020 are stated below. The Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection (BMJV) will provide information separately about the informal meeting of justice ministers on 6 July 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the informal meeting will take place online.

Participation / Accreditation:
Registration is required for all journalists wishing to take part in this event. Permanent accreditations issued by the Press and Information Office of the Federal Government will not be valid.
Journalists wishing to participate in an event must register online at http://www.akkreditierung.bundesregierung.de by 12.00 on 3 July 2020.
We do not currently intend to offer on-site accreditation or accreditation after the deadline.
Notes on the registration process:
- Please enter your user name and password. If you do not yet have a BPA accreditation profile, you must register for a new account. You will then receive a user name and password, which you can use to log in.
- Please check your data under “Mein Profil verwalten” (manage my profile) or, if you are registering for a new account, enter and save your data.
- Switch to the event list under “Anlässe verwalten” (manage events), select the relevant event and register by clicking the button “Anmelden” (register)
- A new window will appear. After you have ticked/selected the information on accreditation, on data sharing and on the review of security-related circumstances, please confirm by clicking the button “Daten speichern und akkreditieren” (save and accredit data).
- Once you have filled everything in, “Anmeldung in Bearbeitung” (registration in process) will be displayed under “Status/Anmelden” (status/registration) in the event list. If your request for accreditation is successful, you will receive confirmation of your accreditation by e-mail.
- Up-to-date information on the event is available at all times under “Anlässe verwalten” (manage events) in your profile at www.akkreditierung.bundesregierung.de.
- You can delete your profile at any time after your accreditation expires.
If your request for accreditation is successful, you will receive individual links to specific programme items a few days in advance, which you can use to join these events.
Live television:
ARD, as the host broadcaster, will provide a live television signal of all events open to the media and will make it available to interested organisations upon request.
