Every day, thousands of people fleeing Ukraine arrive in the Federal Republic of Germany. Refugees from Ukraine can enter Germany without a visa and receive a wide range of assistance, including housing, medical services and access to education. The Federal Government is helping the federal states with the arrival and care of refugees fleeing Ukraine. Thousands of staff from the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) are working all over Germany and in its neighbouring countries, setting up emergency housing and assisting with logistics. The Federal Police have increased patrols at the borders, in train stations and on trains.
