Turkey’s Minister of the Interior visits Federal Minister Faeser in Berlin
Nancy Faeser, Federal Minister of the Interior and Community, met with Ali Yerlikaya, Turkey’s Minister of the Interior, for talks in Berlin today. The delegations from the interior ministries of Turkey and Germany discussed ways to strengthen their cooperation, particularly in the fight against terrorism and organised crime as well as migrant smuggling.

The two ministers also discussed Germany’s new law on nationality, which took effect in late June and, among other things, allows for multiple citizenships. Their talks also touched on ways to improve the visa application process for Turkish citizens. The meeting concluded by addressing communication between the two ministries at working level in order to advance their cooperation.
