New fees

How have the naturalisation fees changed?
The fee is now €255, regardless of the legal basis on which a person is naturalised (Nationality Act or Foreigners Act).
When a minor child with no income of his or her own is naturalised along with a parent, the reduced fee of €51 is still applicable.
Furthermore, fees may be reduced or dropped completely in individual cases. According to the identical provisions contained in Section 38, subsection 2, fourth sentence of the Nationality Act, and in Section 90, third sentence of the Foreigners Act, the naturalisation authorities of the Federal States and local authorities may reduce or even completely drop the fees, if this is financially necessary or appropriate, or in the public interest.
