Naturalisation of extremist and criminal foreigners
Article
Will extremist or criminal foreigners be naturalised?
No, they will not! To begin with: The overwhelming majority of foreigners permanently living in Germany adhere to the law to same extent as their comparable German demographic groups. This fact is documented by the official criminal statistics and the information gathered by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution.
Furthermore, the Federal Government has tightened the naturalisation requirements considerably. For instance, the new nationality law contains a protective clause which denies a naturalisation entitlement to anyone who has carried out anti-constitutional or extremist activities. Also, all adult naturalisation applicants are required to commit themselves, explicitly and bindingly, to the free democratic principles of the Basic Law.
