Return policy is an effective and integral part of comprehensive migration policy. Ensuring the return of irregular migrants is necessary in order to enhance the credibility of policies in the field of international protection, to foster the integration of approved asylum seekers and to ensure social cohesion. Return policy includes the basic issues of voluntary return, return assistance, reintegration, and readmission of persons required to leave Germany.
