Alliance for Affordable Housing and Building
Article Building & Housing
The issue of housing construction in Germany was identified as a central task in the last legislative period, and has been given priority status since then.
The Alliance for Affordable Housing and Building, founded in 2014, is continuing its work in the current legislative period. It will monitor and support the implementation of the agreements made until 2021, and, where necessary, will launch further initiatives to ensure the relevant targets relating to new housing construction are met.
The Alliance for Affordable Housing and Building is part of the Joint Federal, State and Local Government Housing Strategy. It provides support, offers a platform for exchange among all of the stakeholders in the housing market, and is a driving force for targeted housing construction initiatives.
In creating the Alliance, stakeholders in the housing market have agreed on joint targets and measures. Based on these, individual working groups have drawn up concrete measures to be put in place in the key areas of activity.
