Commissioners

The Federal Government commissioners and federal commissioners are appointed by the Federal Minister or Federal Chancellor, whom they support with independent assistance and advice. The office of commissioner is not part of the administrative hierarchy.

Under Section 21 of the Joint Rules of Procedure of the Federal Ministries (GGO), commissioners are to be included at an early stage in any projects concerning their areas of responsibility.
